School Performance - Monitoring Visit – March 2017
School Performance – Monitoring Visit – March 2017
This term we had a visit from an external assessor, monitoring the quality of our provision and charting our progress and development as a school. The visit was conducted by Mr John Gornall, a very experienced external consultant who has previously worked as a Senior Her Majesties Inspector (HMI), leading Ofsted inspections and coordinating regional inspection teams.
In his feedback, John was incredibly impressed with the school, our vision, direction and progress. He commented that he had witnessed some clear best practice in terms of leadership and management, including our organisation, structures, clarity of roles/purpose, teamwork and investment in staff training and professional development. He noted how strong our school careers and post-16 guidance is alongside our carefully combined pastoral, intervention and curriculum provisions, supported by our impressive and innovative assessment and tracking procedures.
He was also very impressed by the quality of senior and middle leaders that he met during the day, noting that there is a shared vision and determination to meet the improvement agenda. He remarked that the consistent message from staff was that ‘students come first!’
