Safeguarding at Stockport School

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as: protecting children from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s mental health or development; ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and acting to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

In Stockport School, safeguarding and the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Our approach is child-centred and we consider, at all times, what is in the best interest of the child.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at Stockport School is Mr Warren, Senior Deputy Headteacher. Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) is Mrs H Thorley Head of Year 11.

If you have a concern regarding the welfare of a child at School, please don’t hesitate to contract the school on 0161 483 3622 and you will be put through to a member of the safeguarding team…

Further advice and guidance can also be sought from the Multi Agency Safeguarding and Support Hub (MASSH) on 0161 474 4734
